I’d recall certain experiences from my past. This lead to a greater understanding of myself. I think this is a big reason I drank in the first place, to help forget all of the terrible things I’d experienced in my life up until that point. After completing rehab, you still need to continue working on your recovery. The best way to do this is to follow your aftercare program, including individual counseling, group meetings, and outpatient rehab.
